- Hi again!
-
- Here's some speed reports from Bad Mood v1.92alpha.
-
-
- Standard 16mhz Atari Falcon (with DoubleVBL and ClockBUGS :))
- 4MB Shareware WAD file, first position.
- =============================================================
-
- VGA (FPS): RGB-PAL(FPS):
- --------------------------------
- 320*240 3.6613 4.0100
- 320*200 4.3243 4.6920
- 320*120 6.4256 6.5306
- 320*100 7.3394 7.4418
- 160*240 5.0793 5.8823
- 160*200 6.0605 6.8376
- 160*120 9.0908 9.3023
- 160*100 10.3225 10.5263
-
-
- Theese are still very unreliable numbers, as the lower
- resolution modes for the VGA isn't what they should
- be yet. The 160 width will be improved, as it is now,
- it does "software" doubling of the pixels, still writing
- twice as much data as needed. However, the 100/120 height
- VGA modes will be slower, as no "software" linedoubling
- is made yet (no real possibility do it hardware either I'm
- afraid). For MultiSyncs however, tomorrow seems bright, as
- it will feature a real 160*100 mode. Faster than 160*100
- in the table above, since the software doubling of X pixels
- will be gone, and no need to software doubling of Y pixels.
-
- On the RGB side, there's also some positive sides;
- None of the resolutions so far use the 25mhz videl mode,
- giving another 20% less pixels. This will give us higher
- framerates still using the same screenarea, but with
- slightly larger pixels.
-
-
- Now, ofcourse we can't go on forever adding a button on the kbd
- for each "detailmode", but a good resolution selector would
- be preferable, only we could get some sources soon. :)
